In this paper we study the trapping of dust particles into the exterior mean motion resonances with the Earth. We integrate a large number of particle orbits in the context of a many-body problem taking into account the effects of Poynting-Robertson and solar wind drag. Adopting a statistical approach, we show how particles with low values of inclination are trapped more frequently into resonance with respect to high inclination particles. We also present results on the dynamic evolution of dust particles trapped in the 1/1 resonance with the Earth. Unusually long-lived trappings have been found.
