Some results of detailed investigations of the absorption spectra of the major components of the Venusian atmosphere in the visible and infrared, at temperatures between 200 and 800 K, are analyzed. The analysis makes use of laboratory data and numerical simulation of radiation transfer in the Venusian atmosphere on the basis of the fine-structure parameters of the absorption spectra. Calculations cover the spectral region from the far ultraviolet to microwaves.
