Optical linear polarization maps have been obtained for the HH46/47 nebulosities in the ESO210-6A dark globule. The central IR source HH46IRS is shown to be the illuminator of an optical bipolar reflection nebula, with HH46 and HH46SW representing the nebular lobes. The results suggest that the outflows (which ultimately produce the emission-line knots HH47A/B/C) occur along the axis of a circumstellar disk containing a toroidal magnetic field, and that the formation of a central star in the ESO210-6A globule proceeded via axisymmetric collapse.
