Optical data are presented for the two-ribbon flare event of May 13, 1982. The data set included images from the Monochromatic Heliograph and 20-cm H-alpha refractor of the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory, and spectroscopic data from the Gamma-Ray Detector (SGR) and a Soft X-ray Spectrometer (SOX) onboard the HINOTORI satellite. Several sample photographs of the flare and its surrounding E-type sunspot (N 09 deg, E 58 deg) are provided. The time changes of brightness in the flare are discussed in detail.
