We have monitored ten gamma-ray bright blazars using the 24" Ritchey-Chretien reflector of the Maria Mitchell Observatory in the summer and fall of 2007. We detected variability in several of the blazars on timescales of days to weeks with a change in brightness by a factor of 0.5 to 1.5. We monitored PKS 1510-089, 3C279, and BL Lac over the same period with RXTE. We discuss the correlation between the variability in optical and other wavebands. We followed an optical flare in PKS 1510-089 that coincided with a high gamma-ray state detected by AGILE. In addition to obtaining the multi-waveband light curves, we imaged all the blazars at 43 GHz with the VLBA at three epochs. We use the images to determine whether there is a correlation between the radio jet activity and optical variability. Blazar research at Boston University is supported by NSF grant AST-0406865 and NASA RXTE grant NNX06AG86G. This research is also supported by the NSF/REU grant AST-0354056 and by the Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association.
