Amplitude, temporal and spectral characteristics of pressure pulses initiated by near-surface optical discharge in air are investigated by experimental and numerical methods. The possibilities for designing of laser-plasma source of shock waves with adjustable amplitude and controlled acoustic spectrum characteristics, and also for remote acoustic diagnostics of laser technological processes and other explosive phenomena in gases are revealed.
