The critical values of slab like, cylindrical and spherical configurations, in which a diffusion mechanism of heat transport is balanced by a source or a sink term, are determined. The heating and loss (radiative) terms as well as the diffusion coefficient are assumed to be local functions of the density and the temperature. The configurations are assumed to be kept within a constant boundary temperature.
