Scientific paper

Altitude dependences of CO2 concentration and CO2+ concentration are deduced from Mariner 6 and 7 airglow measurements. Excitation constants are described. Atomic oxygen densities are calculated, as well as the densities of O+, CO+, and O2+ ions. The temperature profile of the obtained model atmosphere is given. Internal gravity waves, acoustical waves, and eddy cooling are also discussed.
