One of the 59 transit events detected by the OGLE project has been confirmed to be due to the presence of an exoplanet, OGLE-TR-56b, orbiting around a central star. The important thing about this discovery is that OGLE-TR-56b has the smallest orbital distance (0.022 AU) among the exoplanets detected so far. This means this hot Jovian planet is only 4.5 solar radii from the central star. To a large extent, it is interacting directly with the stellar corona. How will the electrodynamical coupling between the magnetosphere (if exists) of OGLE-TR-56b and the stellar magnetic field affect the planetary ionosphere and exosphere and, in turn, the stellar corona and chromosphere is an interesting issue. In this work, we will estimate the possible disturbance to the coronal structure (i.e., heating and particle acceleration) and the dynamcis and mass-loading effect of the ionosphere of OGLE-TR-56b.
