The present consideration of the magnetic fields detected by Voyager 2 in Uranus and Neptune suggests that these can be explained by the action of a dynamo in a thin, conductive convective shell lying at the bottom of these planets' icy oceans. This dynamo, created by the main helicity and differential rotation, excites nonaxisymmetric modes of the mean magnetic field. Estimates are presented for the magnetic field amplitude in the nonlinear regime as well as for the inclination between the magnetic moment and the rotation axis.
