It is demonstrated that by considering the abundance ratio of Li-7 to D, an upper limit to the universal baryon density, rho(b), can be established which is largely independent of the degree to which these elements have been processed through stars. The sensitivity of the inferred limits to rho(b) due to possible galactic or pregalactic sources of D or Li-7, as well as unknown conditions during big-bang nucleosynthesis, is also discussed.
