Exception is taken to Awojobi's conclusion that the equatorial anomaly in the latitude variation of monthly median noon [latin small letter f with hook]0F2 is not associated with the geomagnetic field. Results from recent work on numerical mapping of [latin small letter f with hook]0F2 are presented that confirm the dependence of the equatorial anomaly on the geomagnetic field.
