We have carried out smoothing by averaging at one second intervals for the solar ultrafast fine structure (UFFS) data of Beijing Observatory at 2.84 GHz on May 16, 1981. The result is compared to the burst record with a time constant τ = 1 s. We find there is a difference of more than one order of magnitude in the flux calibration, and the burst curves are very different. So we are led to think that the UFFS data of the event are not likely to be reliable.
