On the basis of King's atlas data for 1975 - 1984 it is shown that there is no connection between long-hour IMF disturbances and polarity division lines of active regions. Any connection of these disturbances with the solar cycle phase has not been found either. It is shown that the IMF disturbance agent affects the geomagnetic field as well. Coronal holes located in the equatorial zone of the Sun are likely to be responsible for long-hour IMF disturbances.
