Statistical analysis of the relation of the daily-mean values of the indices of the geomagnetic activity (AE and Kp) with the daily-mean values of the solar wind parameters is carried out. Geomagnetic activity is shown to be mainly determined by the electric field of the solar wind: by its altering components and by its quasi-stationary part, associated with large-scale magnetic fields on the sun. It is shown that the geoefficiency of the variability of the solar wind magnetic field is explained mainly by its contribution to the daily sum of the southward component of the IMF.
