Scientific paper

The influence of sporadic radio emission of the Sun on the dispersion properties of kinetic Alfvén waves (KAW) is investigated. The electron distribution function is shown to be changed by an electromagnetic wave. If the amplitude of electromagnetic waves is sufficiently high, KAW instability occurs. The radio emission for KAW excitation can be generated in type-II and type-III solar radio bursts. The Landau damping of the KAW is shown to be the cause of heating of coronal plasma.
