By setting the relic cosmological photino density equal to the closure density, a relationship between squark and photino masses can be obtained. From this relationship, the event rate for the detection of relic photinos in our galactic halo is evaluated as a function of photino mass. This constitutes a lower bound on the even rate, since, if ϱγ < ϱc and/or coherent interactions are important, then there may be a large enhancement. The possibility of enhanced rates due to coherent interactions with target nuclei in the detector is discussed, and two models are presented in which coherent interactions may be large.
