The FN method developed by Siewert and Benoist (1979) is used to solve a radiative-transfer problem in a multilayer stratified atmosphere. Numerical results are presented for the case of anisotropic scattering in a single slab and in an atmosphere stratified into six layers with the same scattering law. These results are compared with those obtained by a modern particle-transport code.
