Comet C/2000 A2, Images
Scientific paper
The comet C/2001 A2 (LINEAR) has the very elongated orbit. Therefore the comet can contain a pristine matter from beginning of formation of Solar system, that represents the special interest for the exploration. The splitting of a nucleus allows to receive valuable information on this matter. We present preliminary results of the processing of spectra of comet C/2001 A2 (LINEAR) obtained with the UAGS spectrograph (Long slit + CCD) installed on the 1-m Zeiss reflector of the SAO of the RAS (Northern Caucasus, Nizhny Arkhyz) on July 21/22, 22/23 and August 10/11, 2001, and with Multi Pupil Fiber Spectrograph (MPFS) installed in the Prime Focus of the 6-m telescope of the SAO of the RAS on August 11/12, 12/13, 14/15, 2001, and with Spectral Camera with Optical Reducer for Photometrical and Interferometrical Observations (SCORPIO) installed in the Prime Focus of the 6-m telescope of the SAO of the RAS on August 15/16, 16/17. The observations were obtained during the period when the lightcurve indicates two outbursts of brightness by amplitude 0.4 and 0.2 mag initiating at approximately July 25.0 and 30.0 respectively and possibly related to the ejection of small fragments from the nucleus. Using opportunities of devices MPFS and SCORPIO the images and the spectral maps of the head of the comet were constructed. The presence of any secondary fragments was not registered. The luminescent comet continuum by level 50% of the sum continuum at 480.0 nm in the spectrum of comet C/2001 A2 (LINEAR) is detected. Number of studied by us comets showed that this maximum is in the blue part of the comet spectra (near 430.0 nm). Possible this position of the luminescent continuum maximum close to at 480.0 nm is related with the existence in the coma of the special type of organic particles-luminofors sublimating from the icy nucleus of comet C/2001 A2 (LINEAR). Identification of the emission lines in the spectrum of this comet was made. We identified the emission lines of C2, C3, CN, CH, CH+ NH2. Some physical parameters of the comet gas coma were calculated.
