Studies of radio frequency noise in the upper ionosphere are considered. The antenna used in the investigations consists of two collinear rods, each 6 m long, erected perpendicular to the satellite spin axis after launch to form an electric dipole. A classification of the observed signals is presented, taking into account normal noise bands, sporadic noise, and 1/f noise. Attention is given to questions of correlation between noise and energetic electrons.
