On October 19, 1995 Interball-Tail spacecraft was located near (-23, -10, 17) Re in GSM coordinates within the tail. High-time resolution plasma measurements were available between 1200UT and 1800 UT. During this time interval WIND spacecraft observed strong northward IMF associated with CME. Due to inward motion of the high-latitude magnetopause Interball observed multiple transient phenomena in the magnetopause boundary layer. Numerous reconnection events with clear rotational discontinuity signature and plasma exchange across open magnetopause were observed. Diffusion region crossing is also suggested by very small magnetic field magnitude. Reconnection phenomena were observed at nearly anti-parallel magnetic field configuration. Observations show reasonable agreement with global magnetohydrodynamic simulation in location of reconnection site, in dynamics of magnetotail, and in convection pattern of magnetic field lines from dayside along the flanks into the magnetotail.
