The technical status of the Gornergrat Observatory (Switzerland), performance tests, and molecular observations of the galactic center region are summarized. The surface accuracy of the reflector is 30 microns. Receivers comprise a cooled GaAs Schottky-barrier mixer for the 70 to 116 GHz band, an SIS mixer covering the 140 to 150 GHz range, and a 345 GHz cooled GaAs-Schottky-Barrier mixer will be added. Backends include a filter bank, three acousto-optical spectrometers with different bandwidths and resolutions, and a 500 MHz bandwidth continuum system.
