The rate of radiated photons per electron passing through a
helium-filled Cerenkov counter is observed to oscillate as a function of
the gas pressure when a weak, static magnetic field is applied. The data
agree well with an analysis which treats Cerenkov and synchrotron
radiation as limiting manifestations of a unified process.
