An unusual event observed during a search for antineutrino bursts of extraterrestrial origin is reported. The experiment employs a deep underground antineutrino burst detector station at a depth of 4400 m.w.e. in the Homestake gold mine in Lead, South Dakota. On Jan. 4, 1974 at 17 hrs. 10 min. 32 sec. GMT an event involving a total of 24 pulses within 3 msec was observed in six of the eight large water Cherenkov counters.
