Spectroscopic binaries were proposed for observation by HIPPARCOS. Their admittance in the Input Catalog is subordinated to the behavior of their photocenters of which the orbital oscillation on the sky must remain inside narrow limits bound to the accuracy of the HIPPARCOS observation technique. It is shown that at least 90% of the known spectroscopic orbital binaries fulfill this requirement.
