General methods for studying the observability of nonlinear dynamic systems are applied to the problem of analyzing various parameter combinations for which it is possible to determine the trajectory of a spacecraft. The observability characteristics of an autonomous satellite navigation system in a finite region of phase space are determined with the aid of local and global observability criteria.
