New observations of the He II 10124 line are presented. Except in the case of HD 228766, a binary on its way to becoming a Wolf Rayet, the 10124/4686 wavelength ratio is found to be clearly lower than the predicted one. Unexpectedly strong absorption is observed in a few objects; this raises again the question of pumping of the 2n-prime transition of He II by the corresponding n-prime lines of H. Paschen lines of H are observed in absorption except in two objects.
