The evolution of magnetic fields generated in the early universe is investigated by performing numerical simulations of decaying magnetohydrodynamical turbulence. Special attention is given to the case when the initial magnetic field configuration is strongly helical. An inverse energy cascade in which energy is transferred from small scale fluctuations in the magnetic field to large scale ones is observed. .
