A study is made of the efficiency of the phase correction of distortions in the imaging of astronomical objects due to atmospheric fluctuations of the refraction index. Two types of correctors, a mode type and a composite type, are considered, and two methods of phase distortion modeling, one based on the generation of a spectral amplitude ensemble and the other on the generation of random aberration coefficients, are discussed. Both methods have been used in the calculations presented here.
