Consideration is given to a predictor-corrector method for the numerical continuation of the periodic solutions of an autonomous Lagrangian system with two degrees of freedom. The algorithm is extremely well-adapted to computer implementation and makes it possible to view the energy constant merely as one of the parameters of the system. As an example, the algorithm is used to find the periodic motions which are a numerical continuation of short-periodic Liapunov motions from the vicinity of the hyperboloidal precession of a dynamically symmetric satellite in a circular orbit.
