The lectures cover selected topics concerning galactic nuclei, with the emphasis on observations. Descriptions are given of the nuclei of various objects, including: (1) our Galaxy; (2) the Andromeda galaxy, M31, a nearby spiral galaxy; (3) NGC3351, a barrel spiral with a ring of nuclear H II regions; (4) NGC4151, a Seyfert galaxy; (5) NGC1275, a peculiar Seyfert galaxy; and (6) BL Lac, a QSO. The features identified near the center of our Galaxy include an IR disk; molecular clouds of OH, H2CO, and CO; nuclear H II regions; a 700-pc H I disk; and high-energy X-ray and gamma-ray emissions from the galactic center. Alternative models for the gas motions near the nucleus are considered. A report is presented on the current status of research into the question whether the Hubble expansion is isotropic at distances of 100-150 Mpc defined by ScI galaxies with magnitudes from 14.0 to 15.0.
