Nuclear physics continues to play a central role in elucidating how the
symmetries of the Standard Model give rise to the structure of matter
and govern the evolution of the universe. I discuss how -- in the coming
years -- nuclear physics will address key questions involving strong and
electroweak interactions, both within the Standard Model and beyond.
