Results of the determination of the north-south cosmic ray asymmetry during Forbush effects, solar flares, and the markedly sectorial structure of the interplanetary magnetic field and during quiescent periods over the time span from 1964 to 1988 are presented on the basis of worldwide station network neutron monitor data and stratospheric measurements. Radial gradients of the density of cosmic rays and their variations in time and as a function of energy are calculated on the basis of these results and data on the interplanetary magnetic field.
