A simple system of equations is presented which describes the nonlinear stage of the development of Rayleigh-Taylor (RT) instability in the equatorial F-region. It is shown that this system can effectively simulate two-dimensional RT ionospheric 'bubbles'; results of numerical simulation are presented. It is demonstrated that the structure and dynamics of the 'bubbles' depend on the characteristics of the background plasma as well as on the form of the initial disturbance. It is concluded that the proposed system of equations makes possible a fast numerical analysis of the development of RT 'bubbles' in the equatorial F-region.
