Nonlinear low-frequency acoustic gravity waves have a very complex
behaviour, and can also appear in the form of localized dipole-type
vortices. It is shown that one can deduce a simple system of five
coupled equations for five time-dependent amplitudes that describes the
essential features of such atmospheric disturbances.
