We use Monte Carlo simulation to probe the phase structure of a SU(2) gauge theory with N_f Dirac fermion flavors transforming in the fundamental representation and interacting through an additional chirally invariant four fermion term. Pairs of physical flavors are implemented using the two tastes present in a reduced staggered fermion formulation in which exact lattice symmetries correspond to a discrete subgroup of the continuum chiral-flavor symmetry. Sign problems are avoided by simulating systems possessing an even number of such flavor pairs corresponding to N_f=4 and N_f=8. In both cases we observe a crossover in the behavior of the chiral condensate for strong four fermi coupling associated with the generation of a dynamical mass for the fermions. The rapidity of the crossover is seen to sharpen dramatically as the gauge coupling is increased.
