A method of isotope analysis, effective in a rigidity range adjacent to the domain of the transmission method, is presented and used to plot transmission vs cutoff rigidity for nitrogen and boron isotopes at cutoff rigidities below 7 GV. The method makes use of the geomagnetic effect and combines the use of the Cerenkov-counter threshold with the finite-cutoff rigidity range encountered on the HEAO-3 satellite orbit. Predictions based on a reference element (carbon) agree well with actual transmissions observed down to 6 GV. Preliminary mean masses for the two elements are reported for energies of approximately 2 GeV/n.
