High resolution imaging of young stellar objects (YSOs) in the near-infrared wavelength region (NIR) can reveal the spatial distribution of warm circumstellar dust as well as the multiplicity of the sources. We investigated a sample of southern Herbig Ae/Be stars, Vega-type stars, and a region in the Hourglass nebula with high spatial resolution. For most of the objects, the observations yielded diffraction limited resolution (0.15'' in the K band). In this contribution, we report on first results for the Herbig Ae/Be star HR 5999, the Chamaeleon Infrared Nebula (IRN), and the exciting star of the Hourglass nebula, Herschel 36.
