Results obtained with new improved methods of detecting polarization of light from remote objects are summarized. Digitized polarization maps based on data obtained using a polarimeter + electronographic camera combination are superposed on photographs of celestial objects and inferences are drawn. Objects studied are: Crab Nebula and its pulsar, irregular galaxy M82 (in Ursa Major), Orion nebula, and the spiral M104 ('Sombrero') galaxy. Synchrotron emission in the Crab, the optically inaccessible center of M82, stars embedded in the Orion nebula, and striking uniformity of the M104 magnetic field are revealed.
