The origin of the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe, baryogenesis, is one of the most important open questions in modern high-energy physics. In this talk I will summarize recent developments in this field that lead to a better understanding of the conditions for a succesful realization of previously proposed scenarios, and open the window for new mechanisms to generate the observed baryon asymmetry.
