The disadvantage in expanding dynamic range and restraining noise of the traditional H-S (Harmtann-Shack) wavefront sensor centroid computation method is analyzed. Based on the temporal characteristsic of atmosphere turbulence, through determining the changing scope of centroid motion between two adjacent sample perpiods, a new dynamic tracking centroid method of H-S wavefront sensor is proposed. Using this method, the dynamic range of wavefront sensor can be expanded when atmospheric turbulence is strong; the effect of CCD readout noise and shot noise can be reduced.
