There are suggestions to extract the pp total cross section,
σT(pp), at polarized colliders by measuring the
analyzing power, AN(t), or so called the factor of merit,
M(t)=AN2(t)dσ/dt. This talk is devoted to a detailed
study of these new concepts. .
