Attention is given to the possibility of nu(e)-nu(mu) oscillations among atmospheric neutrinos which lie in the several-GeV range, whose large path lengths could give rise to oscillations that may significantly affect the estimates of neutrino fluxes. The upward neutrino flux must be corrected for oscillations in matter only when there is an approximately 10 percent deviation from the flux that would be obtained if the medium of the earth were a vacuum.
