The NASA Laboratory Astrophysics Workshop, sponsored by the NASA Office of Space Science (OSS), was hosted by NASA's Ames Research Center, May 1-3, 2002. The purpose of this Workshop was to discuss the current state of knowledge in this interdisciplinary field and to assess the scope of its contributions to NASA's space missions.
This report comprises a record of the complete proceedings of the Workshop including a White Paper that describes the science priorities ("needs") identified during break-out group discussions. The Laboratory Astrophysics White Paper, which has been provided to OSS for incorporation into its strategic planning efforts, can be found in these proceedings beginning on page 3. -- November, 2002
