Extensive intermediate-band, H-beta and RI photometry of two pseudocepheids in the LMC, HDE 269879 (Sand. 168-66) and 271182 (Sand. 48-65), obtained in 1981-1983, is presented. The cooler star, 168-66 (G2 Ia), suffers only the foreground reddening of the LMC and the metal abundance parameter indicates an abundance as high as that found for any galactic supergiant. The luminosity of 168-66 is M(V) = -7.55 mag, from a previous calibration of the photometric parameters. A previous underestimation of the reddening, and therefore the metal abundance, of the galactic pseudocepheid R Pup is corrected. R Pup (G20) is of higher luminosity and apparently has weaker metal lines but otherwise is similar to 168-66.
