The EUV N III spectrum is discussed with reference to the interpretation of solar observations. Atomic data are presented which will also be useful in the investigation of other astronomical objects, such as for the N III 1749-A multiplet in IUE observations. From the ATM observation excitation temperatures are found which lie significantly below the temperature of maximum fractional abundance of N(2+).
