The tensor virial theorem for two components is used here to analyze a simplified model for the Galaxy approximated by a dark halo and a bright disk. The two components are modeled by concentric and coaxial spheroidal subsystems, one lying completely within the other. Special attention is given to the numerical interdependence between the present parameters of the visible Galaxy and the ones of dark matter and to the dependence of the bright component evolution on the characteristics of the dark halo.
