The integral electromagnetic interaction cross section of muon in iron, with energy transfer above 10 GeV, is estimated from the relative frequency of observations of repeated consecutive interactions of muons in the horizontal flux of cosmic rays in an ionization calorimeter. The absolute magnitude of the cross section and its dependence on the muon energy are found to be in satisfactory agreement with theoretical predictions.
