We request 72 hours of ATCA time to study the radio-far-infrared (FIR) correlation at the site of an HII region within the Galaxy. The radio-FIR correlation is not well understood, but there is growing evidence that it is made up of a correlation between the thermal radio emission and warm dust on small scales and non-thermal radio and colder dust on larger scales. With the data, we intend to map the spectral index and separate the radio continuum emission into thermal and non-thermal components and perform a pixel by pixel analysis of the radio-FIR correlation over a range of different spatial scales. To do this, we need observations at 6/3 cm in the 750C configuration and at 20 cm in the 1.5D configuration.
