Solar synoptic maps provide an important visualization of global patterns. Maps are available of sub-surface flows, photospheric and coronal magnetic fields. We have carried out a multiresolution analysis of averaged synoptic magnetograms. Every synoptic map was averaged in longitude resulting in a column of 180 latitude values for each Carrington Rotation. The study covered Carrington rotations 1625 through 2030 or the period 1975 up to 2005. We performed a multilevel wavelet decomposition of the solar magnetic field signal for each latitude. Trends, periods and transients in the decomposed signal are discussed.
